We are delighted to announce that DRETNS have been selected as one of CESCA (Cork Equal & Sustainable Communities Alliance) Grassroots Grants Recipients for 2022-2023.
The grant was awarded by CESCA to 10 programs of work to support initiatives that are working to bring communities together, to promote and progress equality and social justice in Cork City.
DRETNS will be using the grant to run the STEAM Education “Climate-Action-in-a-Box” programme for 5th class pupils the school.
This is a 5-lesson solution-focused programme exploring climate change and action, including the science of causes and effects, engineering and tech solutions for sustainable energy, humans and nature, and more. Using arts, communication and active citizenship the programme engages the children in understanding the part they can and do play and in contributing their ideas towards a greener future. Fun, hands-on, creative and participatory, the programme is designed to support and engage primary schools in positive Climate Action.
