End of Term Assembly: 19th December

Jan 9, 2023

On the 19th of December, 2nd – 6th Class all gathered together in the Hall for their last assembly of 2022.

Firstly, Our Principal, Alan, welcomed us by talking about our new school building that we were moving into in the New Year.

Then, class by class each performed lovely songs to the other classes, some in Irish, some in English.

After each class performed, Clive, one of the teachers, gave us a fitness challenge. He played “Jingle Bell Rock” and every time we heard “jingle” we had to squat.

It was a sore challenge, and really pushed us, but in the end, we enjoyed it.

Yesterday we had an assembly. The second and third class sang Somewhere Only We Know and fourth class sang The Cup Song in Irish. Alan told us to thank someone who helped us and this would be our last assembly in this school.

Senior Infants learned about lots of special celebrations this month, including birthdays, Christmas, Diwali, Kwanzaa and Hanukkah.  For assembly, we sang a song called ‘Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah’.  We also shared our dance to ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’ which we have been working on during PE this month.
